Annalisa Gojmerac
Community Gardener

Annalisa grew up in York County surrounded by generational farmers of Pennsylvania Dutch, Shunned Amish, Mennonite and Dunker descent. She learned about York County’s traditional growing methods from the best. She studied Fine Arts and Sciences (BFA) at Maryland Institute, College of Art, International Political Science at Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore Maryland, and (MFA) at Cranbrook Art and Architecture Academy in Detroit, Michigan. She returned to York County PA in the early 2000’s and pursued creating Urban Community Gardens incorporating old and new experimental growing methods, the same as she created them in various parts of the US and overseas. She is the original founding member of York Fresh Food Farms Community Gardens. Annalisa believes it is vital to both preserve and create green spaces in Urban areas, for the health and well being of both human and natural life, and link them to supportive local community arts and history programs.
