- 1 large bunch broccoli, cut into florets
- 1 red bell pepper, cut into ¼-inch strips
- 2 tsp vegetable oil
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 2 tbsp sesame seeds
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- salt and pepper
- Steam broccoli florets for 5-6 minutes, until crisp-tender. DO NOT overcook!
- Toast the sesame seeds in a dry skillet until lightly browned, then remove from skillet.
- Add vegetable oil to the skillet. When hot, sauté red pepper strips until crisp-tender, season with salt and pepper then remove from skillet.
- Add sesame oil to the skillet. When hot, add the broccoli and sesame seeds and stir fry just until heated through.
- Add soy sauce to the pan and toss until mixed with broccoli.
- Remove broccoli from the pan to a serving dish and top with red pepper strips.
SERVES 4-6
Notes: The red pepper strips, cooked separately, add a fresh, sweet flavor to the dish
